Camp & Retreat Ministries (CRM), a ministry of the Upper New York Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, has named Rebekah “Beki” and Lucas “Luke” Wachob as co-directors of Aldersgate Camp & Retreat Center in Brantingham.
As directors they will be responsible for the overall operations of the site.
“The selection team is very excited about the gifts they bring to the Annual Conference, and we look forward to welcoming them to the CRM team,” said Mike Huber, associate director of Connectional Ministries for Camp & Retreat Ministries.
Luke previously held a leadership position as seasonal staff of Camp & Retreat Ministries. His volunteer history also includes various leadership roles – such as Sunday school, teen Bible studies, and adult Bible studies at Farmington UMC, his home church.
Luke has a BS in environmental science from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. His past working experience focused on energy efficiency and involved commercial HVAC energy auditing and installation inspections.
Beki grew up attending camp at both Aldersgate and Casowasco, and has served as seasonal staff for CRM. She has a BS in accounting from SUNY Albany, and is completing a master’s in business administration at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She has work experience in public accounting, both as an audit and tax accountant.
