We’ve been providing Christian hospitality to groups of all denominations and affiliations for over 60 years. Our site is regularly used in a myriad of different ways including youth retreats, Bible studies, family reunions, and retreats, church picnics, business meetings and more. Aldersgate allows individuals and groups to remove themselves from their everyday world to reflect and focus on community building, improve communication skills, and reaffirm relationships.
Aldersgate has a great sand beach waterfront on Pleasant Lake. We offer a variety of activities including boating with rowboats, canoes, and funyaks, two floating rafts, and the AquaPark. Our waterfront is open typically from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Please consult with our registrar for more information regarding the waterfront.
We can offer a personalized program for your group depending upon number and ages of participants. We offer a low ropes challenge course with 11 different initiatives. We also provide group activities that foster team and unity bonding, communication, cooperation, and problem solving. As a group leader you can work with our staff prior to your retreat to customize the challenge course program that will work best for your group.
Aldersgate has two sports fields for large group activities and games including a soccer field, archery range, and kickball/softball field. We also have an asphalt basketball court. Sports equipment available includes footballs, soccer balls, basketballs, volleyballs, and frisbees.
Come and enjoy all that Aldersgate has in its backyard!
We will help you choose the facilities that best meet your interests and budget, and assist you in arranging your program, special equipment, and recreational activities. Aldersgate operates from mid-April through mid-October. Spring brings warm days amid breathtaking blossoms of Lily of the Valley. As early summer nears, fresh wild strawberries appear, and the scent of pine trees fill the air. The weather becomes perfect for a canoe ride, a hike through our bog, or fishing along the still waters of an Adirondack lake. In summer, our fields are filled with the laughter of children at summer camp and stargazing. The days are pleasant, and the nights are relaxing for our Summer Programs and Retreats. Fall gives way to crisp days, amazing Adirondack vistas of autumn colors, and the opportunity to gather around the campfire.
